I actually got the kit from my doctor to begin with, as I got the custom molded trays.
Within 2 weeks time of doing it for 45 min to a hour once in am and once in pm the shading on my teeth went from a 7 to a 2. The only problem I had I didn't put it in the exact spot on the bottom tray, therefore near my gumlines it is still yellow, however will do touch up and all will be good! Glad the touch-up kit is available via Amazon since the dentist is $200.
Yes when the bleach got onto my gums it did burn, but that is to do the high percentage of bleaching concontion that is used. After wiping it off, it never bothered me again.

Terrible! After less than 5 minutes with the trays in my mouth, my gums were burning, aching, tender, swelling and dyed a very strange, light, almost white, color - pain ensued for more than an hour. Caused fast heart rate and headache - thought something was really wrong...I don't know what is in this product, who mixed this concotion, or what the mixture is, but you do not want it. At least I do not want it....ever again.

I have used the Day White Excel 3 for approximately two years off and on. It really does whiten your teeth. Please note that I had already purchased the customized trays from my dentist. The kit does not come with trays.

amazing value. same stuff i get at my dentist, but a little stronger and at a fraction of the price. will last a long time. my teeth are nice and white!
